Age Envy - Mike's Photo and Thoughts Website

Years ago my brother told me a story which made quite an impression on me.

A young man came up to him and said, "I wish I were in your shoes." My brother asked why. He replied, "Your kids are grown, your house is paid for and your major expenses are over. My kids are young. They still have primary school to finish. Then they all have to go to be educated and go to college. I still have mortgage payments on my house. My wife and I both work to make ends meet. It's tough."

My brother looked at him and said, "I'll trade places with you. I will take your job your debt and your worries. But I will also take your health and your age. You will take my job and my worries but you also have to take my health and age. The man thought for only a brief second and replied, " Thank you but no thank you."

A friend of mine told me that there is a saying that if each person took his troubles and hung them on a line so that one could exchange their troubles for someone elses, most would take their troubles back.
